Blog Beginnings

So, I’ve decided to start a blog…I wanted to be able to share my passion of decorating and designing with others. Feel free to join me in this journey.  But, first you may want to know a little about me.  So, here I go….

People should live their lives with passion!  I believe in the joy that comes from jumping into a new challenge and choosing to fight for what’s really important.  When it comes to my career, I am blessed to have the opportunity to pursue an interest I’ve had since I was a little girl.  As a child, I remember the best part of playing with my dollhouse was decorating it!  Eventually, with the encouragement of my sweet husband, this passion turned into a career.  I attended the Art Institute and Savannah College of Art and Design.  After completing my degrees I put my passion into practice and now help others achieve their design goals and dreams.

Purpose and passion found only in work???  Never!  Inspiration comes from my handsome husband, my two sweet boys (who keep me on my toes every second of the day), and my heavenly Father who continues to love, pursue, and show me grace on a daily basis.

I love the beach, sunshine, riding in my Jeep (with the top down and a Sonic drink in hand), the smell of fresh picked raspberries, the patterns and textures of fabrics, the character and history of old houses, the smell of my boys after a bath, and all things sweet (especially chocolate!).

‘Haven’ blossomed out of the idea that we all need a safe harbor, a refuge.  Our homes should reflect our personalities, interests, and loves.  As a designer, I have embraced this one central theme…make your home your haven.
