My Mother

Thinking back on growing up, I can’t remember every little thing that my mom did for us…reading to us, playing with us, doing art projects, going to the park.  But I do remember moments and I remember overwhelming themes that still ring true today; such as we are loved and there is nothing we can do to lose that love.

I know that my Mom has been, and always will be, my biggest cheerleader.  She has taught me to love others as I would love myself, taught me how to be caring, compassionate, and full of mercy.  She has taught me to always reach for my dreams and always depend on the Lord because He is faithful to provide.

She has been the best role model for what a mother should be.  Disciplining with love, mercy, and constant patience.  Growing up there was never a time that I felt unloved.  I was constantly told that I was loved and had a mother that showed us love through her actions of hugs and kisses, or her self-sacrificing for us.  She never brushed us off with other things to do, but always put us first in her life.  She always encouraged us and told us she was proud of us.

Mom, I know I don’t say it enough, but you are the best!  You have been a wonderful mother.  Thank you for always praying for us, loving us, and taking care of us.  I hope that I can be half the mother that you are!  I know that God is saying to you, “Well done my good and faithful servant…for with you I am well pleased!”  I love you so much!!!  Happy Mother’s Day!
